Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day Run
The event takes place on November 26, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri, with the start area at 86th Terrace and Ward Parkway on the east side of the Ward Parkway Center (8600 Ward Parkway). The event program includes multiple distances and youth options:
- 5k
- 10k
- 1 Mile Walk
- Downhill Mile Run
- Tiny Turkey Trot (Kids 12 and Under)
Entry, logistics and participant information
Entry fees are posted for each event and a group discount is available for families or groups of four or more. Packet pickup is offered at Fleet Feet inside the Ward Parkway Center on the days before the event, with additional pickup on race morning; race-morning pickup may involve long lines. Participants receive a long-sleeve thermal shirt, a 6-inch pie as the finisher item, and free event photos. A traditional metal finisher medal is available for purchase at registration.
Timing is provided by a chip on the back of the bib; participants should attach the bib to the front of their shirt, above the waist, with numbers horizontal. Thanksgiving-themed medals are awarded to top three overall male and female finishers and to top three finishers in multiple age groups from 9 & under through 80+. Strollers are welcome. No motorized vehicles, roller blades, bikes, or dogs are allowed on the course. The listed charity partner is Harvesters Community Food Network. Registration fees are not refundable; registrants may switch to a virtual option or transfer registration to another participant or distance.
