On The Edge middle distance triathlon at Park Farm, Compton Verney
On The Edge is a middle distance triathlon held at Park Farm within the Compton Verney hamlet in Warwickshire. The event uses the Capability Brown designed lake for the swim and has transition areas overlooking a grassy bowl. The swim is 1900 m and is completed in two laps with competitors entering the water in pairs as a trickle start.
The bike leg covers a 90 km route through the Warwickshire countryside and includes climbs and descents on the Edge Hill escarpment, including the Edge Hill climb. Total bike elevation is listed as 888 m. The route uses mostly minor roads with good surfaces and is suitable for both TT and road bikes. Signage will be in place around the bike and run routes.
The run is 21.1 km on tracks and trails in and around Park Farm and the Compton Verney area. Total run elevation is listed as 238 m. The course is mostly off road on grass and tracks with firm underfoot paths; entrants may choose trail or road shoes.
Aid stations are provided on both bike and run courses offering items such as water, gels and snacks. British Triathlon full or one day membership is required for participants.
