Tapping of the Great Pumpkin 10k
The event on November 1, 2026, takes place at the Great Pumpkin Venue on the Gwynedd Mercy University campus, 1325 Sumneytown Pike, Gwynedd Valley, PA. It offers several distances and a children’s run and is presented in partnership with Lower Gwynedd Township Parks and Recreation.
Distances offered:
- 10k chip timed road run
- 5k chip timed road run
- 2 mile non competitive untimed fun run/walk
- Lil' Pumpkin Kids Run about 1/3 of a mile
All courses run along the Lower Gwynedd Township Treweryn Trail system and are organized as road runs and walks rather than off road trail races. The route is described as more than 90 percent flat and smooth with a few areas that are not perfectly even. Organizers note fall foliage and leaves on the ground as characteristic of the season.
The event benefits Gwynedd Mercy University. Post-race provisions include food supplied by Penna’s Italian Market free to participants with a race bib, and beer supplied by Well Crafted Beer Company free to participants over 21 with a race bib. The program includes an awards ceremony and a costume contest. Attendees are asked to enter Gwynedd Mercy University at the main entrance off Sumneytown Pike because other entrances may be gated.
