Tanker Trot : McConnell Air Force Base
The Tanker Trot is a timed 5K held on McConnell Air Force Base during Airshow weekend. The course offers early access to the flightline, allowing participants to run alongside aircraft and past the Thunderbirds before the airshow opens to the public. The event takes place during the Frontiers in Flight Airshow schedule and is open to the public.
The event format is a single 5K with a one hour course limit. Walkers, runners, families, kids, and strollers are welcome. Registration details for the next year include a registration opening date, a closing date, and tiered fees; spectator admission is charged per adult with a limit per runner, and the first 200 participants receive a registration discount.
All participants receive a finisher medal and a long sleeve event shirt. Age group awards are offered across seven male and seven female categories with plaques for the top three in each category. Overall male and female winners receive first place recognition and an airshow themed water bottle.
The event supports community involvement and fundraising for the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Fund.
