Event Overview
The Planet Fitness Wichita OctoberFit 5K is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event is organized as a community initiative in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas (BGCSCK), with proceeds benefiting the youth programs of that organization.
Race Details
The 5K course starts and finishes at 2101 W Sim Park Dr in Wichita. The route follows bike paths along the Arkansas River. It goes north of the river past landmarks like Cowtown and the Keeper of the Plains to Exploration Place, then returns on the path south of the river before crossing the "red bridge" back to the finish line.
Parking is available at the start/finish address or at the Botanica parking lot located east of the line.
Additional Activities and Information
A Halloween-themed costume contest is held before the race. It is open to individuals and couples, with a $100 gift card prize for the winner(s). A raffle is also held, with tickets sold to win a home entertainment package.
All participants receive a race t-shirt, a participation medal, and a bag of goodies.
Packet pickup is available in the days leading up to the race at a Planet Fitness location on E. Central Ave in Wichita, as well as on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
