Planet Fitness Wichita OctoberFit 5K and 10K
Planet Fitness Wichita presents the OctoberFit 5K and 10K on October 24, 2026. The event includes in-person 5K and 10K races and a virtual 5K/10K option. Proceeds support the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas and their youth programs.
Start and finish are located at 2101 W Sim Park Dr, Wichita, one mile west of the Wichita Art Museum along Museum Blvd / West Sim Park Dr at the workout park. Parking is available at 2101 W Sim Park Dr and at the Botanica parking lot just east of the start and finish area.
The route follows the bike path on the north side of the Arkansas River past Cowtown and the Keeper of the Plains to Exploration Place, then returns along the bike path on the south side of the river. A short jog across the red bridge returns runners to the start and finish area.
A costume contest for individuals or couples takes place before the race; participants must visit the judging area prior to the race and the winner receives a $100 gift card. All racers receive an OctoberFit race t-shirt, a participation medal, and a bag with goodies.
Packet pickup is available Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 at Planet Fitness Normandie, 6592 E. Central Ave, Wichita, KS 67206. Packets are also available the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
