Event
The Planet Fitness Wichita OctoberFit is a 5K road/bike-path race held in Wichita, KS. The event partners with the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas; proceeds from the OctoberFit campaign will benefit youth programs run by that organization. Registration opens May 1, 2026. Entry fees range from $35 to $40 depending on registration date.
Route, logistics and extras
The start and finish are at 2101 W Sim Park Dr, Wichita. The course follows the bike path on the north side of the Arkansas River past Cowtown and the Keeper of the Plains to Exploration Place, returns along the bike path south of the Arkansas River, and crosses the red bridge back to the start/finish area. Parking is available at 2101 W Sim Park Dr and at the Botanica parking lot just east of the start/finish.
All participants receive a race t-shirt, a participation medal, and a goodie bag. Packet pickup is available Monday, October 20 through Wednesday, October 22 at Planet Fitness Normandie, 6592 E. Central Ave, Wichita, and packets will also be available the morning of the race. The event includes a costume contest for individuals or couples, with a prize of a $100 gift card, and a raffle for a home entertainment package.
