Tame the Tower Trail Challenge
Tame the Tower Trail Challenge is a trail running event held in Mount Gretna and centered at Clarence Schock Memorial Park, 3283 Pinch Road, Lebanon PA. The village of Mt. Gretna is described as having silent beauty and a tradition of artistry that extends to the park's hiking trails. Courses are well marked with colored ground flags and routes will be posted in advance.
Distances offered:
- 10 mile - pink flags, about 1500 feet elevation gain
- 5 mile - yellow flags, about 850 feet elevation gain
One hundred percent of race proceeds are allocated to the park for trail maintenance, park safety measures, and improvements to the education center. Past investments funded a new water fountain and a mud kitchen. Parking is available at Governor Dick Park on a first come first served basis with overflow parking in Mount Gretna and a van shuttle when that lot fills. Race registration and number pickup occur at Governor Dick Park on race day during a morning window. Top overall male and female winners in each distance receive cash prizes, and winners by age group are recognized. Finish-line timing and results are provided by a professional timing service. The event proceeds in all weather and refunds are not offered. Pets are not permitted to participate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
