2026 Tame the Tower Trail Challenge
The 2026 Tame the Tower Trail Challenge takes place in Mt. Gretna at Governor Dick Park and Nature Center on Saturday, December 12, 2026. The event uses local mountain hiking trails that run through areas noted for artistic features and paved walkways in the village.
Two trail distances are offered. Courses are subject to change and are not final until race day.
- 5 mile
- 10 mile
One hundred percent of race proceeds will be returned to the park. Funds are designated for trail maintenance, park safety measures, and improvements to the education center.
Entry fees vary by distance and by postmark date. Registrations received by November 1 include a winter gator; extra gators will not be available for late or same day registrations. Online registration closes before race day, and race day registration is available onsite.
Parking is first come, first served at Governor Dick. When lots reach capacity, participants will be redirected nearby and a shuttle will be provided. Volunteer parking attendants will manage traffic.
Awards include cash prizes for top overall male and female in each distance, plus recognition for top male and female in each age group. Timing is provided by a third party and results will be posted after the event. The race proceeds rain or shine and there are no refunds. Pets are not permitted to race. All distances start and end at the Governor Dick Nature Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
