Santa 5K Run & Walk
The Manheim Lions Club hosts an annual Santa 5K Run & Walk in downtown Manheim, PA. The event starts and finishes at Market Square and is held in December to raise funds for local community projects and charitable causes. Participation is open to all ages and fitness levels, and festive holiday attire is encouraged.
The course is chip timed by an electronic system. A water station is available at the halfway point and additional water is provided at the finish. Porta-potties are located near the east side of Market Square. Medical support is provided on site and along the course by Life Lion. Event security and traffic control are provided by Manheim Borough and regional police and fire police.
Packet pick-up is organized at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Market Square, with a scheduled session the day before and a morning session on race day. Parking is available at several nearby locations including Manheim Central High School, church lots, and a borough municipal lot behind Subway; on-street parking is also available in the borough.
Event rules include nonrefundable entry fees, prohibition of roller skates, skateboards, e-scooters, e-bikes and bicycles on the course, and a requirement that dogs remain leashed and cleaned up after. The course must be completed within one hour and fifteen minutes. Medals are awarded to top finishers in age groups 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 plus, and cash prizes are given to overall top finishers.
