Tamalpa Headlands 50K : 27th Annual
The Tamalpa Headlands 50K is a single-course ultramarathon held in Marin County, California. The event takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with the start and finish located in Santos Meadow near Muir Beach. The course was originally founded in 1995 as the Pt. Reyes 50k and was reimagined in 1998 to use the current route.
The route traverses several well known local trails, including Coastal, Miwok, Matt Davis and Dipsea. The course includes approximately 6,600 feet of elevation gain and a mix of steep climbs, fast descents and flowy singletrack. On clear days the route offers views of the Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean.
The event is presented by Arc'teryx and Tamalpa Runners and is part of the USATF Pacific Association Grand Prix. It will not serve as the 2026 USATF 50k Trail Championship. The race awards a total podium purse of $10,000, distributed as $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second and $1,000 for third in both male and female divisions.
