Tamalpa Headlands 50K

The Tamalpa Headlands 50K is a single-loop ultramarathon held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with start and finish at Santos Meadow in Muir Beach, California. The event is presented by Arc'teryx and Tamalpa Runners and is a USATF PA Grand Prix event. The total prize purse is $10,000 with awards for top men and women.

The course runs on many well known Marin County trails, including Coastal, Miwok, Steep Ravine, Matt Davis and Dipsea. The route includes fire road sections, steep climbs, flowy singletrack and technical stretches. The course gains approximately 6500 feet of elevation and offers views of the Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean.

The event traces its origins to 1998 and is organized as a single loop ultramarathon. Registration opens February 14th on Ultrasignup. Recorded course best times are 3:37:20 for the male course record set in 2015 and 4:20:51 for the female course record set in 2016.
