Tamalpa Headlands 50K

The Tamalpa Headlands 50K is an annual single-loop ultramarathon held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with start and finish at Santos Meadow in Muir Beach, California. The event is presented by Arc'teryx and Tamalpa Runners and is part of the USATF PA Grand Prix series. The published total prize purse is $10,000 with awards for top finishers.

The course uses many well-known Marin County trails, including Coastal, Miwok, Steep Ravine, Matt Davis and Dipsea. The route features approximately 6,500 feet of elevation gain and combines fast fire road sections, steep climbs, flowy singletrack and technical segments. Runners encounter expansive views of the Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean along the route.

The start and finish area at Santos Meadow in Muir Woods serves as the staging area and site for postrace activities. The event receives support from the Tamalpa Runners and UltraRunning Magazine and lists multiple local and outdoor industry sponsors.
