About the race
The 5K Run for Brandon Lee & Land Defenders is a fundraising run in San Francisco on August 29, 2026, organized by ICHRP NorCal and the Defend Negros Island Coalition. The event takes place at Upper Great Highway and Lincoln Way and is the second edition of this 5K in San Francisco.
The activity is non-competitive, family friendly, and pet friendly, and accommodates walking, running, and rolling. Route options are available along the Great Highway.

Registration for the 5K is free while a $25 donation is highly encouraged; participants are also encouraged to seek sponsors and set a fundraising goal of $100. Same day registration is possible. All participants receive a running bib, a Justice for Brandon zine, and Cordillera-inspired temporary tattoos. A post-run program is included as part of the event schedule.
The run supports long term care needs and raises awareness of issues affecting land defenders in the Philippines. The event began in 2024 and the organizers dedicate the fundraiser to victims of violence against land and farmworker communities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
