Take Flight 5K & 1 Mile Run
Take Flight 5K & 1 Mile Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2027, at Greenville Downtown Airport, 21 Airport Road Ext., Greenville, SC 29607. The event features two running events held on the airport runway and open to walkers and strollers.

The runway course is flat. Chip timing and live results are provided, and race photos are available after the event. Age-group prizes are awarded and prizes are handed out between races. Official groups and teams are publicly recognized; groups of five or more receive a $5 rebate per 5K runner.
A memorial observance honoring fallen veterans takes place before the races. The Civil Air Patrol conducts a missing comrade ceremony, followed by a POW/MIA observance, a moment of silence, and TAPS.
Registration opens January 1 at the lowest price of the year, with fees increasing by $5 on the first of each month and the highest fees applying in race week. The official event shirt is available as an add-on for $12.50 and is picked up with the bib. Bib and shirt pickup are available on the Thursday and Friday before the race at the loop between Takeoff Minigolf and the Museum, and on race morning at the airport. Entries are final with no refunds or deferrals; transfers and other registration changes are allowed up to race day.
