Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk at Lakewood Nature Preserve
The Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk takes place on December 19, 2026 at Lakewood Nature Preserve, 220 Lakewood Drive, Greenville, SC 29607. Donations and race proceeds support the Upstate Running Club Youth Team. The event is organized as part of the Upstate Race Series.
The course is a grass cross country layout consisting of two loops of about 1.5 miles each. Trails are described as wide and rolling. Entry includes admission to Lakewood Nature Preserve and parking is included in the registration fee with parking adjacent to the barn and finish area. The event is chip timed with live results.
Event amenities and rules include a finisher medal, custom race bib, event-themed giveaways, a race sticker, and complimentary race photos. There will be music and a post-race gathering near the barn. The event is cupless; water is not available on course but will be provided at the finish area. Four portable toilets will be on site. Dogs are allowed on course when kept on a leash. Headphones and earbuds are permitted.
A tacky sweater contest awards cash prizes for top entries: first $50, second $25, third $10. Sweaters must be worn for the entire race to qualify. Packet pickup occurs on race morning beginning one hour before the event and must be done in person. Race-day registration is available until the race begins.
