Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk
The Tacky Sweater 5k is a festive trail event held at the Lakewood Nature Preserve in Greenville, South Carolina. The course consists of a grass cross-country style route that features two loops of 1.5 miles each. The terrain is described as wide and rolling with some hills. This event is open to participants of all ages, and walkers are welcome to participate with a one-hour time limit.
Participants are encouraged to wear festive holiday sweaters throughout the entire race. A formal contest is held following the run, with cash prizes awarded to the top three individual or team entries based on creativity, theme, and craftsmanship. The judging takes place at a dedicated tent near the finish line.
The event utilizes chip timing and provides live results. Each participant receives a custom race bib and a finisher medal. Water is available at the finish line, though the event is cupless and requires runners to bring their own water bottles. On-site facilities include portable toilets located near the start and finish area.

The venue offers free parking, which is included in the registration fee. Post-race activities include music, themed giveaways, and a gathering by the barn.
