Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk, Lakewood Nature Preserve
The event is a 5K running race and walk on 12/19/2026 at Lakewood Nature Preserve, 220 Lakewood Drive, Greenville, SC 29607. The course is two loops of 1.5 miles each over wide, grassy trails with some hills.
Registration opens on 12/24/2025 and closes on 10/1/2026. The registration fee is $10.00. Packet pickup begins one hour before the run.
A tacky sweater contest runs alongside the race with team and solo categories. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three entries in each category, with $50 for first, $25 for second, and $10 for third. Sweaters must be worn for the duration of the race. Group entries are eligible for a best group award. Photo documentation at the finish is required for contest entry and judging takes place at a post-race tent. Spectator votes are counted toward a People’s Choice award.
A post-race gathering is planned near the barn, including music, photo opportunities, and refreshments. Participants of all ages and dogs are welcome to take part in the run and the sweater contest. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
