The 2026 SWA Run AWAY 5K is a trail run and walk scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026. It takes place along the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County's Greenway Trail System in West Palm Beach, Florida. This event marks its 10th anniversary.
Course and Scenery
The 5K course features varied terrain through landscapes including cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes, and pine flatwoods. Participants can view Grassy Waters Preserve and the SWA's Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park along the route.

The event includes three participation options:
- Run AWAY 5K Runners/Walkers for ages 11 to 99.
- Run AWAY 5K YOUTH Runners/Walkers for participants aged 10 and under.
- Sleep-In Virtual Run AWAY 5K for remote participation.
Awards and Groups
Place awards are given in categories such as Overall Male/Female and various age groups from 11-15 to 70+. Youth aged 10 and under receive a participation award. Groups of six or more registrants can receive a per-person discount.
Purpose and Partnership
The race is hosted in partnership with the nonprofit Resource Depot, which focuses on creativity, conservation, and community engagement through reuse.
