JW Corbett Trail Races
The event takes place in the JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area near Loxahatchee, FL and uses the Ocean to Lake Trail system. Courses are marked with orange blazes for navigation. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 18 Miler
Entry into the race requires membership in the JW Corbett Running Club; entering the race constitutes that membership. Membership entry fees are directed to the Florida Trail Association Loxahatchee Chapter after administrative fees are paid.
The courses run on technical single track through remote, largely undisturbed Florida wilderness. Terrain includes wet prairies, cypress strands, hardwood hammocks, open meadows and pine flatwoods. Trails can be rugged and possibly wet. Participants should expect abundant wildlife and seasonal wildflowers along the route. A 13 hour cutoff applies to all runners. Event materials describe the race as low cost and old school in format. Runners who register after 3/25/2024 are not guaranteed a shirt in their size. Registration closes on Sat, Apr 4.
