SVR Winter Series
The SVR Winter Series is an 8-race series organized by the Shenandoah Valley Runners, a non-profit running club. The events take place at various locations across the northern Shenandoah Valley. The series begins in December and typically features races every other weekend through March.
Participants can choose to register for the full series or opt for single race entries. Registration for the full series is reserved for active club members. Full series participants are tracked using assigned shoe timing chips for the majority of the events, while single-race participants receive numbered bibs on the day of the competition.

- 5 km (South Berkeley Christmas 5K)
- 5 km (Jingle Bell 5K @ Blandy Farm)
- 5 km (Wags at West Oaks Farmers Market)
- 60 Minutes (Museum of the Shenandoah Valley)
- 5 km (Heart & Soles 5K @ Middletown)
- 4 Miles (Summit Point Motorsports Park)
- 5 km (Ram Run 5K)
This is a series-based competition where runners accumulate points based on their overall and age group finishes. A runner's final score is calculated from their top finishes. Awards are presented at a separate banquet in April for various age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over. In accordance with Road Runners Club of America recommendations, the use of earphones, pets, or strollers is not permitted during the races.
