Superhero 5k and Kids' Runs Benefiting the ChildSafe Center (CAC)
The event on April 18, 2026 in Winchester, VA benefits the ChildSafe Center (CAC), a center that helps abused children. The event starts and finishes at Greenwood Mill Elementary School and follows an open course through a residential area with rolling hills.
Distances:
- 5K for men and women; open to ages 10 to 100
- Kids' Mile for children ages 6 to 12
- 100 Yard Dash for children ages 2 to 5
The 100 yard dash takes place around the school building and a 50 yard dash will be held in the parking lot adjacent to the school. Awards will be presented to the top male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female in the Kids' Mile. All finishers in the Mile and all 100 Yard Dash participants will receive completion ribbons.
Registration in advance is preferred; same-day registration is available and accepts cash or check. Fee details: 5K $30 online, $35 in person; Kids' Mile and Flash Dash $10 online, $15 in person. Members of Shenandoah Valley Runners receive a $3 discount. T-shirts are guaranteed to those registered by April 1, 2026. Due to insurance requirements, strollers, dogs and headphones are discouraged. This is a rain or shine event and no refunds will be made.
