Event Overview
The Superhero 5k and Kids' Runs is a community fitness event held at Greenwood Mill Elementary School in Winchester, Virginia. The proceedings benefit the ChildSafe Center - CAC, an organization focused on supporting children who have experienced abuse. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes while taking part in the various activities.
Race Details
The event features three distinct distances to accommodate different age groups and preferences:
- 5k (3.1 miles) race or walk open to all ages.
- Kids' Mile specifically for children between the ages of 6 and 12.
- 100 Yard Dash (Flash Dash) for children aged 5 and under.
The 5k course starts and ends at the elementary school, traversing an open route through a residential area characterized by rolling hills. The 100 yard dash takes place around the school building.
