SVR Winter Series

Event overview

The SVR Winter Series is an eight-race, in-person series organized by the Shenandoah Valley Runners in Winchester, Virginia. The series runs from December 7, 2025 to March 7, 2026 with races scheduled across the northern Shenandoah Valley, generally on alternating weekends. Individual events include multiple 5K races, a four-mile race, and a time-based "60 Minutes" event. The club follows RRCA recommendations and does not allow earphones, pets, or strollers in its races.

Registration, timing, awards and other details

Full-series pricing is listed as Individuals $60, Students (up to age 23) and Seniors (65+) $40, and Family (up to four members) $140. Single-race registration is $20 online or $25 for day-of in-person registration (cash only), with the note that Event #1 has separate arrangements. Full-series registration is available only through RunSignup and only to active club members; eligibility for series awards requires a 2026 club membership established before February 1, 2026. Full-series registrants receive an SVR knit beanie (four styles); swag is guaranteed for the first 800 full-series check-ins.

Timing procedures differ by event: Event #1 uses a numbered bib; full-series participants use an assigned shoe timing chip for races 2-8. Lost chips can be replaced for $20 and are requested to be returned after the series. The series uses a points system based on overall and age-group finish to determine awards, with cumulative scores reflecting top finishes; awards will be presented at the SVR Banquet on April 11, 2026.
