Event overview
The SVR Winter Series is a set of eight in-person races organized by the Shenandoah Valley Runners, a non-profit running club. The series runs from December 7, 2025 to March 7, 2026 and is based in Winchester, VA. Scheduled events include a mix of 5K races, a four-mile event, and a timed 60-minute event at venues such as Blandy Farm, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Third Winchester Battlefield, Middletown, Summit Point Motorsports Park, and Strasburg High School. SVR may alter the schedule and may attempt to reschedule cancelled events for the following weekend.
Registration, rules and series format
Full series registration is available only through RunSignup and only to active club members. Full series prices are: Individuals $60, Students (up to age 23) and Seniors (65+) $40, Family (up to four members) $140. Single race registration is listed at $20 online and $25 for in-person cash registration (Event #1 excluded). Full series registrants receive an SVR knit beanie; swag is guaranteed for the first 800 full-series check-ins.
Race operations follow RRCA recommendations that do not allow earphones, pets, or strollers. Race #1 uses numbered bibs. Races 2-8 use assigned shoe timing chips for full-series competitors; lost chips can be replaced for $20 and are requested to be returned after the series. The series uses a points system (up to 500 points per race per category) with cumulative scoring based on top finishes. Awards require a 2026 club membership established before February 1, 2026 and minimum race completions; awards are presented at the SVR Banquet on April 11, 2026 at Millwood Station Banquet Hall, Winchester.
