Event overview
The Brooks Surf Coast Trail Marathon is the 12th edition of an annual trail running event held on Saturday 20 June 2026. The course runs along the Surf Coast Walk on Victoria’s Surf Coast, tracking from Torquay to Fairhaven. The route passes coastal landmarks including Bells Beach, Point Addis, Anglesea and Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet. The finish area is at Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club. A post-run gathering with live music is scheduled at the Airey’s Pub.
Race distances and formats
The event offers multiple distances and race formats:
- 42 km - full marathon, solo or teams of two (teams split the distance)
- 21 km - half marathon
- 8 km - Urquhart’s Bluff Blast, Urquharts Beach to Fairhaven
The course is described as a non-technical, non-remote, non-mountainous trail with coastal singletrack, clifftops and beach sections.
Entry and refund information
Entry pricing varies by distance and by registration period. Teams enter and pay per person. Entries can be transferred to another runner to race on the day. Refunds are available only before midnight 24 May 2026 and then are subject to a $30 administration fee; no refunds or deferrals to future events are offered after that date.
