Torquay Triathlon Overview
The Torquay Triathlon is a multi-sport event held along the coastline in Torquay. The event serves as a World Qualifier and is part of the Hai Tri Series, a two-race competition that spans from the coast to the Bellarine Peninsula. The race is scheduled for 29 November 2026.
The event features a sprint distance format consisting of three legs:
- 400 m Swim
- 15 km Ride
- 4 km Run
Participants can compete across various categories, including Elite, Age Group, Multiclass, and Teams. Points are awarded in each race towards the overall series championship. The event infrastructure includes a dedicated transition area and support from local organizations such as the Torquay SLSC.
In addition to the main sprint distance, there is a dedicated Kids Tri and a multiclass category to accommodate different participants. The course utilizes local roads, necessitating scheduled road closures in the Torquay area on the day of the event.
