Torquay Triathlon : course and event details
The Torquay Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held on Sunday 29 November 2026 along the Torquay coastline. The event uses Fishermans Beach for the swim start and Elephant Walk Village for the transition and event village.
Distances:
- 400 m swim, beach start at Fishermans Beach
- 15 km bike on a two-lap course along the Esplanade, Horseshoe Bend Road and Sands Boulevard
- 4 km run along the Torquay Front Beach path toward Point Danger
The swim starts on the sand and finishes up the boat ramp into the transition area at Elephant Walk Village. The bike course begins with a run-out to the mount line, follows the Esplanade north to Horseshoe Bend Road before turning and returning along the coast, and is completed over two laps. The run follows the front beach path with a turnaround at the water station in front of the Torquay Surf Life Saving Club, finishing beneath the event arch at the event village.
Entry categories include Open Elite, Para Multiclass, Age Group divisions from 13 years and up, team categories and a kids division for ages 7 to 12. Entry transfers are permitted until 27 November 2026 for a fee. Early race pack collection and transition access occur on the day before the race at Elephant Walk.
