About the race
Rip to River is a community running and walking event organised by Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club at Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale, Victoria. The event includes races on the beach and along coastal sections, with check-in and bib collection organised from the two surf life saving clubs.
Race options listed:
- 10 km Classic Run starting from Point Lonsdale Back Beach
- 10 km Walk starting from Point Lonsdale Beach
- 5 km Beach Run at Ocean Grove Main Beach
- 1.4 km Ripper Nipper at Ocean Grove Main Beach
- Combined 5 km Run and 1.4 km Ripper Nipper
Pre-event bib collection is available the day before at Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club and on the morning of the event from Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale club locations. A coach transfer for entrants back to Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club is provided and included in the entry fee. Personal bags can be labelled and left at Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club to be transported to Ocean Grove Main Beach for collection; storage is at entrants own risk.
Medals or prizes are awarded in male and female categories. Published entry fees vary by event category, with reduced pricing noted for participants aged 17 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
