Superhero Showdown
Superhero Showdown is a themed running event on April 18, 2026, held at the Chuck Albrecht Softball Complex in Anchorage, Alaska (4781 Elmore Rd). The event offers in-person and virtual options, with the virtual timeline running April 11 to April 18, 2026. Race packets can be picked up at two listed locations or mailed to virtual participants.

The in-person course starts near Dr. MLK Drive north of the parking lot and uses paved roads. The 1.3K turns after about 0.65K and returns to the lot. The 5K is two laps with a short first lap and a longer second lap that includes a short out-and-back on Tudor Center Rd and a long out-and-back segment on Dr. MLK Drive, finishing in the parking lot. The course is described as flat, wide, and likely to have dry pavement.
The event includes costumes, a Heroes vs Villains element, music, games, a climbing wall, inflatables, face painting, crazy hair, and a post event barbecue available as an add on. Swag includes a wicking 100% polyester shirt and a finisher medal.
Safety policies prohibit pets, bicycles, and rollerblades during the race. Participants with baby joggers or strollers are asked to start at the back.
