Superhero 5K / 1 Mile Family Fun Walk
This family-focused event is held at the Sunflower Shelter in Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, KS. It features a timed 5K Run/Walk and an untimed 1 Mile Run/Walk and serves as a fundraiser for Wichita's Littlest Heroes, an organization that supports over 800 local families.
The event includes food and entertainment such as a food truck, DJ and music, bouncy houses, facepainting, cotton candy, and a variety of vendors. There is a costume contest and awards presented in age categories: 10 and under, 11-20, 20-50, 50-70, and 70+. A virtual race option is available.
Pre-registration is $40 and day-of registration is $50. Participants registered in advance receive a shirt and medal, and the first 500 pre-registered participants receive a goody bag. Food, drinks, and entertainment are listed as part of the event offerings.
