Superhero 5K/10K Walk Run Roll and Summer Festival
San Andreas Regional Center hosts an annual Superhero 5K and 10K Walk Run Roll and a summer festival in support of individuals with developmental disabilities. The event welcomes individuals and organizations connected to autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, mental health, and other conditions related to differing abilities. This edition marks the tenth year of the Superhero Summer Festival and the fifth year of the Walk Run Roll.
The 5K and 10K are timed races and participants are encouraged to wear superhero gear. Registration for the 5K and 10K carries a fee of $60 per person. Medals and shirts are distributed at the end of the race.
The Superhero Summer Festival is inclusive and free to the public. Festival features include community resource tables, face painting, photos with superheroes, food trucks, arts and crafts, festival games, a free backpack giveaway, multicultural elements, and entertainment by individuals with differing abilities. A Super Kid Dash is offered as a free activity for children. The event is held at Almaden Lake Park in San Jose, California.
