Sunshine Run 5k
The Sunshine Run 5K is a charity road race taking place on Wednesday 17 June 2026 at Newcastle Quayside, Great Britain. The event uses a flat and fast 5 km route that finishes with a photo opportunity in front of the Tyne bridges. Entries are offered in two categories: Sunshine Run 5K – Elite / Club Runner and Sunshine Run 5K – Fun Run, each covering 5 km.
Registration includes a t-shirt, a medal and chip timing. The stated entry price is £27.00 plus fees and online entry closes on 3 May 2026. The minimum age for entries is 15 years. No refunds are available after the entry closing date, but if the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances participants will receive a refund of their paid entry price. The organiser notes the event will go ahead in all weather conditions unless the Met Office deems conditions dangerous or unsafe.
On-site facilities listed for participants include a bag drop, toilets and water offered after the race. Photographs taken at the event will be used and owned by The Chronicle Sunshine Fund for online and media channels. The race is run under UKA Rules for Competition and is licensed by England Athletics (license number 29085).
