The Sunrise to Sunset Challenge

The Sunrise to Sunset Challenge, now entering its 17th year, takes place at Shrewsbury Sports Village on Sundorne Road in Shrewsbury. Runners choose from 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, or all-day ultrarunning, and aim to cover as much distance as possible between sunrise and sunset, with a lap card stamped for every completed lap. The loop course uses a purpose-built 1 km cycle track, noted for speed and with the long hill from Lightmoor reportedly flattened somewhat.
