The primary objective is for runners to complete as much distance as they choose or are able to between the hours of sunrise and sunset.
Distance Options
Participants can select from several established distances or aim for an ultra-marathon distance by continuing to run throughout the day:
- 5 km (minimum age 15)
- 10 km (minimum age 16)
- Half Marathon (minimum age 17)
- Marathon (minimum age 18)
- Ultra Marathon (minimum age 18)
Course and Facilities
The race is held on a 1 km loop where runners receive a stamp on a lap card for every completed circuit. The venue at the Shrewsbury Sports Village includes an on-site cafe and toilet facilities. An aid station is available to runners, and music is provided throughout the day. The winner of the overall challenge is the individual who records the furthest distance by the time the sun sets.
