Severn Bridges 10K

The Severn Bridges is a club-organised 10 km road race held in The Quarry, Shrewsbury SY1 1JA. The event was started in 2009 by the local council to encourage people who might not think of themselves as runners to try a 10 km, and it is now organised by Shropshire Shufflers. The race is affiliated to England Athletics with a race licence applied for.

Entry information includes a fee of £17 with a £2 reduction for affiliated EA members. All finishers receive a medal. Prizes are awarded to the first overall male and female and across age categories. Numerous spot prizes are available, donated by local sponsors.

Facilities and logistics include a bag drop area, a water station at 6 km and additional water at the finish, and no changing facilities so participants are asked to arrive ready to run. In the event of postponement all entries will be transferred to the rescheduled date; refunds are available on request.

The route has been plotted by Juan Miguel Reyes and runs beside the River Severn and through The Quarry. Recent sponsors and prize donors include local businesses that have supplied event sponsorship, bottles and vouchers, running-shoe prizes and recycled-cup water provision. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
