Event Details
The Sun Fun Color Run is a community running event with two distances: a 5K and a 1K. It is held at Carrie Blake Park in Sequim, Washington. It is described as part of the Sequim Sunshine Festival.
Course Information
Both events use a mass start format. The 1K route goes around Carrie Blake Park. The 5K route is an out-and-back course on the Olympic Discovery Trail. The 5K is a timed run with age group awards. The 1K is not timed.
Included Items
The entry fee includes a T-shirt, race bib, finisher medal, sunglasses, a buff, and a starting line color blast bag. The 1K includes 3 colors and 3 color blast stations. The 5K includes 5 colors and 8 color blast stations.
Logistics
Bib pickup is available on the Friday before the event at Barhop Brewing in Sequim. It is also available at the park starting 90 minutes before the start time. There is a water station at the 5K turn-around point. No gear check is provided. Awards are given for overall male and female winners in the 5K, with ribbons for the top three in each age category.
Additional Information
The event organizers note that the colorful powder used is non-toxic, made from cornstarch and dyes. Strollers are allowed, but pets are not. The event happens regardless of weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
