Summer Sunset Series
The Summer Sunset Series takes place on the Desjardins Recreation Trail in Hamilton, ON. The event is organized by The Runner's Den in partnership with Mizuno. Races use the waterfront trail and are described as having a flat, fast course.
Event formats include:
- 5K walk/run: out-and-back flat course along the waterfront trail
- 1 km kids run: fun run along the waterfront trail
The 5K is a timed event using an ankle chip. The kids run is not timed; medals are provided to children who finish. To keep costs low, no shirt or medal will be provided for 5K runners.
Included on race day are a bib with attached chip for timing, demo shoes on site, draw prizes for participants courtesy of Mizuno, and post race refreshments.
Free parking is available on city streets in the Westdale neighbourhood. Paid parking is available onsite at RBG Cootes Paradise and parking enforcement is noted for vehicles that do not pay. Registration and chip pick up are available on race day adjacent to the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
