Summer Sunset Series
The Summer Sunset Series takes place on the Desjardins Recreation Trail along Hamilton's waterfront in Ontario. The series is organized by The Runner's Den in partnership with Mizuno and runs on multiple summer evenings, including June 25, July 23, and August 28, 2026.
The program includes a 1 km kids run and a 5 km out-and-back course along the waterfront trail. The 5 km is timed using an ankle timing chip; chips and event registration are available on site adjacent to the start line on race day. The 1 km kids run is not timed and medals are provided to children who finish.
On-site provisions include:
- demo shoes available to try
- draw prizes for participants courtesy of Mizuno
- postrace refreshments for participants
Parking details note free street parking in the Westdale neighbourhood and paid parking at the RBG Cootes Paradise site. Participants should be aware that parking tickets are often issued for vehicles that do not pay at Cootes Paradise. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
