10th Annual 5K Addiction Awareness Memorial Run
The event takes place on October 24, 2026 at Guilderland High School in Guilderland Center, New York. It is a memorial run established by the family to remember a local resident who died after a long battle with addiction.
The program includes both a main 5K run and a shorter youth distance. Runners and walkers are welcome. The event is child and stroller friendly and dog friendly. The race day is preceded by a Memory Ceremony.
Registration for the 5K opens April 7, 2026 and closes October 21, 2026. The registration fee for the 5K is $35.00; the kids run has no fee.
Proceeds from the event will support scholarship funds, a women’s housing program at the local YWCA, and an addiction care center in Albany. The stated goals are to raise awareness of addiction, reduce associated stigma, provide education about the disease, and share the possibility of recovery.
