Albany's Trick or Trot Pumpkin Run 5K
The City of Albany's Trick or Trot Pumpkin Run is a 5K event held in Washington Park on a Halloween decorated course. Participants may run or walk the course and costumes are encouraged. The race uses chip timing provided by ARE Event Productions, and all registered runners receive a wicking fabric shirt.
A family friendly pre-party takes place before the race and features free pumpkins, candy, vendors, decorations and a DJ. The event includes both competitive and fun run/walk options.
Post-race recognition and awards are held at the finish line in Washington Park. Awards include 1st Place Male, Female and Non-Binary, plus top three male and female finishers in these age divisions: 15 and under; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. A costume contest for registered runners awards Best Adult, Best Duo, Best Original and Best Kids.
Off-street paid parking is available nearby through ParkAlbany at Parking Lot 2 (72 Central Ave), Parking Lot 3 (327 Washington Ave) and Parking Lot 4 (124 Central Ave); parking is subject to fees. Ground rules include no alcoholic beverages, no glass containers, and no pets except ADA-defined service animals. Strollers are welcome with a recommendation that runners with strollers start toward the back for safety. Entry fees are final and non-refundable and the organizers reserve the right to cancel for hazardous weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
