The 2nd Annual Students of Scriptures 5K - Race of Champions is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Vista View Park, 4001 SW 142nd Ave, Davie, FL 33330. The event includes an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K run/walk, plus a separate Shopping Cart Race. A lead vehicle will record the race leader and broadcast to social media and a monitor at the finish area. Entry fees listed are US$50 for the in-person 5K, US$45 for the Virtual 5K Run/Walk, and US$50 for the Shopping Cart Race.
Events, awards and shopping cart rules
The race course is described as a flat 3.1-mile (5K) route with partial shade. Awards are offered across 50 categories, including Senior Grandmasters, Grandmasters, Masters, Athena, Clydesdale, Running with Dog, Running with Stroller, and a Shopping Cart Race category. Prize money of US$3,250 will be shared among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in several overall and age-group categories. An additional US$200 prize will be shared for new male and female event records.
The Shopping Cart Race is a 200-meter relay (four legs of 50 meters). Teams consist of four runners: one man, one woman, one male teen, and one female teen. Only 12 teams will be accepted; first through third places receive the groceries in their cart plus trophies, and remaining carts will be donated to the institutions indicated on the cart tags.
