Event overview
The Strides for Education 5K takes place on February 28, 2026 in Fort Myers, FL (8099 College Pkwy, 33919). The event includes these distances:

The 5K has an entry fee and the kids run is free.
Course, timing and logistics
The 5K course follows a shaded tour of Florida SouthWestern State College campus. Chip timing will be used with ChronoTrack Bib Tag technology; the timing strip is attached to the race number and must remain visible and unwrinkled. Pre-race packet pick-up is available on three specified pre-race dates at the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, 2266 Second St, Fort Myers, and on race day at FSW State College, 8099 College Pkwy. A QR code is provided at packet pick-ups for quick registration.
Awards, purpose and rules
Overall awards for top male and female finishers are presented by overall category (including masters and grand master) based on gun time. Age-group awards are given three deep by chip time across standard age brackets from 1-9 up to 75 and up. Proceeds support the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program. That program selects qualifying low-income students (grades 6-9), requires mentoring and a minimum GPA of 2.5, and awards a four-year college tuition scholarship upon successful completion. Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, roller blades, skates, skateboards, strollers and pets are prohibited. A heat warning encourages hydration and light clothing.
