Strides for Education 5K
Strides for Education is a community run on the Florida SouthWestern State College campus in Fort Myers, Florida. The advertised 5K course has been shortened for 2026 campus construction and will be run as 2.75 miles. The course passes through shaded areas of the college grounds. Race bibs include chip timing to provide accurate finish times.
The event includes a short kids run held after the main run. The 5K has a registration fee of $30 while the kids run is free. The event is organized by the Fort Myers Track Club. Proceeds from the 5K support the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program. Take Stock in Children Lee County is a mentoring and incentive program that assists low-income students in Lee County, and more than 800 Lee County children have received scholarships through the program.
