Event Overview
The Suncoast STARS Community hosts the Stride to Thrive event, a fundraising walk/run to benefit their Work & Enrichment Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event includes a 5k run and a 1-mile walk.
Activities and Festival
Following the run/walk, a Family Fun Fest is held. It features food trucks, bounce houses, music, face painters, a vendor village, nonprofit booths, a batting cage, and a silent auction.
Location and Courses
The event is held at Grace Community Church, 4080 Lakewood Ranch Blvd N in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
- The 5k course is a loop starting and finishing at the church parking lot, using Communications Pkwy, Professional Pkwy, and Lakewood Ranch Blvd N.
- The 1-mile walk course is a paved path accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. It starts after the 5k, goes out along Communications Pkwy, turns around at the half-mile mark, and returns to the church.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Thursday before the event at Grace Community Church from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on race day from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Only service animals are permitted.
