Event Overview
The Wellen Park Half Marathon and 5K is an annual running event held in Venice, Florida. The races start and finish at Solis Hall in Downtown Wellen Park. This 4th annual edition supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Suncoast through a portion of the proceeds and participant donations.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
The courses are designed to be scenic and well-supported, leading participants through the heart of the downtown area. Parking is available throughout Downtown Wellen Park for all attendees. Following the completion of the races, a post-race gathering provides food and beverages starting in the morning.
Participant Information
Registration for the event includes specific policies regarding participation for different groups. Walkers, strollers, and leashed dogs are permitted to participate. For safety reasons, these participants are asked to start at the back of the field. Dogs must be kept on a non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
Race day packet pickup and registration are available at the site before the events begin. Awards ceremonies are held for both distances based on official finish times. The event maintains a no-refund policy, and participants have the option to purchase registration insurance during the signup process.
