The 42nd Stretton Skyline Fell Race
The Stretton Skyline is a very tough 19 mile fell race around Church Stretton, organised by Telford Athletic Club and scheduled for 6 September 2026. The event uses Church Stretton Sports Pavilion as its listed place of assembly. Minimum age is 19. Entry is limited to 180 participants; entries opened on 25 June 2026 and close on 5 September 2026 at 12:00. The standard entry fee is £10, with entries on the day at £15.
The route climbs to the summits of Pole Bank, The Ragleth, Caer Caradoc, The Lawley and the Long Mynd. Much of the course is unmarked and requires navigation; sections in Little Stretton, Church Stretton and the stretch between The Lawley and the final climb to the Long Mynd are marked. Runners must take care when crossing the A49 twice. There are four water stations on the route. Runners are required to carry dibbers which record time and position on each summit. Checkpoint closing times are published as a guide for those unsure about finishing within the time limit. Copies of the race route can be printed to carry on the day.
