Mortimer Forest Trail Race : 14 December 2025
The Mortimer Forest Trail Race takes place in Mortimer Forest on the Herefordshire/Shropshire border on Sunday 14 December 2025. It is a multi-terrain winter event with muddy sections, hills, and trail running under winter conditions. The course is waymarked and marshalled.
Course and distances
- ~10 miles: a longer multi-terrain route that includes the Big Dippers and a climb to the top of High Vinnalls, followed by a downhill finish with views across the Welsh Marches to the Malvern Hills and Brecon Beacons.
- ~4 miles: a shorter route that omits the Big Dippers, follows larger tracks, and still includes the ascent of High Vinnalls with a downhill section.
Both routes include off-road trails and varied terrain. The shorter course avoids the more technical Big Dippers but retains the climb to High Vinnalls. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
