Event overview
The Strawberry Sprint takes place on April 4, 2026 in Thorsby, Alabama. The event is part of the town's annual Strawberry Fest celebration and is held near Thorsby High School at 9017 Franklin St. The race day includes two events:
- 5K
- Kids Fun Run
Course and logistics
The 5K is an out-and-back course that begins at the intersection of Franklin Street and Alabama Ave and follows County Road 37 South. The route passes open fields, historic homes, and a historic cemetery, with a gentle incline on the return. Check-in will be at Wood Park. The Kids Fun Run takes place inside Richard Wood Park. The 5K is open to runners, walkers, and leashed dogs. The 5K will be chip timed. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K.
Registration, fees, and beneficiaries
Entry fees listed are $35 for the 5K and $10 for the Kids Fun Run. Registration closes March 28, 2026. The last day to register for a guaranteed tshirt is March 4, 2026. 5K participants receive a tshirt; Kids Fun Run participants receive a finisher medal.
