The Strawberry Sprint features two events:
- Thorsby Strawberry Sprint 5K
- Kids Fun Run
Course
The 5K is an out-and-back course that starts at the intersection of Franklin Street and Alabama Avenue, near Thorsby High School. It follows County Road 37 South, passing open fields, historic homes, and a historic cemetery. The route has a gentle incline on the return leg.
The Kids Fun Run takes place inside Richard Wood Park.
Registration and Details
The Check-In tent for the event is located at Richard Wood Park. The 5K is open to runners, walkers, and leashed dogs. The Kids Fun Run is for children.
Registration for a guaranteed t-shirt ends on Wednesday, March 4. Online registration closes on April 2, with walk-up registration available on race morning from 7:00 to 7:45.
Perks and Charity
Participants in the 5K receive a t-shirt, and Kids Fun Run participants receive a finisher medal. The 5K race is hand-timed.
All profits from the event support the Jemison High School Cross Country Team, covering team expenses. Online donations for the team are also accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
