Dead of Night 12 Miler
Dead of Night 12 Miler is a 12 mile trail event in Montevallo, Alabama, organized by The Running Birds and held at Shoal Creek Park, 2781 Hwy 119. The course is two 6 mile loops that use gravel, grass, and dirt trails and is described as mostly flat with minimal elevation change. All ages are welcome.
Check-in is located at the pavilion near the main parking lot. There is parking and access to restrooms. At check-in, runners receive a race bib and a custom event t-shirt. A custom finisher’s medal is awarded upon completion of the full 12 mile course. The top three male and top three female finishers receive custom awards.
An aid station is located at the start and finish area and will be passed at mile 6 and mile 12. The aid station provides water, an electrolyte drink, and light snacks; runners are advised to carry any specific supplies they need. Medical support, first aid supplies, and an AED are provided by First On Scene Consulting LLC.
The event runs in darkness, so a headlamp and spare batteries are recommended. The race operates rain or shine. The posted entry fee for this event is USD 72.62.
