Strawberry Distance Challenge 2027
The Strawberry Distance Challenge is an annual running event held at the Walden Lake Polo Fields in Plant City, Florida. Taking place in mid-February, this event offers a variety of distances to accommodate different athletic interests, with all participants finishing at the same venue location on Griffin Blvd.
The available event distances include:
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 5K Ruck (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
- Virtual 5K for those unable to attend in person
Registered participants receive a commemorative shirt and a medal upon finishing their respective distances. The event provides post-race refreshments at the venue, specifically fresh strawberries, bananas, and water. While all finishers earn a medal, placement medals are also distributed to participants based on their performance speed in the competitive categories.
For the 5K Ruck category, awards are integrated into the standard 5K results. Those participating in the Virtual 5K can complete their distance at a personal pace and location, with the shirt and medal sent to them by mail following the event date.
