Event overview
The Strathearn Marathon is a road marathon held on 14 June 2026 near Comrie in Perthshire, Scotland. The race is organised by Strathearn Harriers with assistance from the Comrie Development Trust and is run by club volunteers. The event has a total entry capacity of 300 places and is a Scottishathletics permit event under UK Athletics rules. The course has been officially measured and certified, so it counts as a qualifying race for the London Marathon.
Course and logistics
The route starts and finishes at Cultybraggan Camp and runs on quiet public roads through Strathearn, passing Glen Artney, the village of Braco, the old Roman road, and the southern edges of Crieff before returning to Comrie. The course includes about 500 metres of ascent and reaches heights approaching 800 ft. There are mile markers, full signage, marshalling of junctions and water stations at frequent intervals. Organised parking is available inside Cultybraggan camp; camping and self-catering accommodation are also available in the local area.
Timing, rules and prizes
The event uses chip timing and provides full medical cover. The race is organised to operate within a six hour timeframe; runners not at the halfway point after three hours must withdraw and transport is provided back to Cultybraggan. The race takes place on public roads that are not closed to traffic, so UK Athletics rules on wearable audio devices apply. Prize categories include top three male and female, several veteran age categories, local and spot prizes, and cash awards for overall winners with an additional cash bonus for course record breaks. Race t-shirts are available for purchase during entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
