Brig Bash
The Brig Bash is an annual summer evening five mile road race to the south of Perth. The 28th edition is scheduled for Wednesday 7 July 2027; the 27th took place on Wednesday 1 July 2026. The event began in 1998 and has run in most years since.
The course is a tarmac road route largely over quiet country roads, with under 25 metres of total climb. The course is AUKCM distance certified and the event is licensed by Scottish Athletics.
Entry in 2026 was via Entry Central with no on‑the‑night entries, a minimum age of 16 and 332 places available. Entry fees in 2026 were £17 for Scottish Athletics members and £20 for non‑members; traffic calming and police enforcement were applied to a 1 km section of the route in 2026, with associated costs reflected in the fees.
Health and safety arrangements include a published risk assessment, insurance under the race licence and first aid provision by a named first aid provider. Results and finish counts are recorded for past years; recent editions listed finishers and team results.
Prizes include cash and memento glasses for overall places and age categories, a prize for the first non binary finisher, team prizes and cash awards for course and age category records. The race offers an after race buffet; food provisioning varied in 2026 with a local baker supplying scones. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
