The Brig Bash is an annual summer evening road race organised by Perth Road Runners. The event is a 5-mile race held on quiet country roads to the south of Perth. The 2025 edition was the 26th running and took place on Wednesday 2 July 2025. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Wednesday 1 July 2026. The race was not held in 2020 and 2021 owing to COVID-19.
Course and safety
The course is on tarmac and has less than 25 m of total climbing. The route is distance certified by AUKCM and a course map and digital segments are available. The race is licensed by Scottish Athletics. A risk assessment and event insurance are in place and first aid provision has been used at recent events.
Entry and field
Entry is via Entry Central. There are no on-the-night entries. Minimum entry age is 16. In 2025 there were 330 places available and the race typically attracts club teams from across Scotland. Recent finishers totals include 259 in 2025 and earlier years ranging from under 100 at the first run to over 200 in many recent years.
Prizes and records
Prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers and a prize for the first non-binary finisher. Team prizes use cross-country scoring with three scorers. Age-category prizes are defined for specific age bands and, from 2025, require a minimum of three entrants for category prizes to be awarded. Course records stand at 23:30 (male) and 27:30 (female). The fastest first mile on the course is also awarded each year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
