Brig Bash 5
Brig Bash is an evening road race of 5 miles held to the south of Perth. The course is fast and flat, with less than 25 m of total climbing, all on tarmac and largely on quiet country roads. The event was first run in 1998 and the 27th edition is scheduled for Wednesday 1 July 2026. The 2026 event is sold out.
The race holds AUKCM distance certification and is licensed by Scottish Athletics. In 2026 the organisers applied traffic calming on a 1 km section of the course under a TTRO with police enforcement; this change contributed to increased entry fees for 2026. Entry in 2026 was limited to 332 places, with a minimum age of 16 and no entries on the night. Entry was via Entry Central. First aid provision for the event is supplied by Active First Aid Scotland. A published risk assessment is available for review.
Prizes include cash and mementos for the first three men and women, a prize for the first non binary finisher, team prizes and age-category awards across defined age bands. Course record prizes and age category record prizes are offered. The event includes an after-race buffet; contents may vary. The all comers course records stand at 23:30 for men (2023) and 27:30 for women (2014). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
