Steps4SMILEs 5k/10k Charity Race
Steps4SMILEs is the fourth annual charity running event taking place on August 22, 2026 at Baylands, 999 E Caribbean Dr, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. Proceeds benefit Second Harvest and the event is organized by SMILE, a group of high school student-athletes. SMILE stands for Supporting Malnourished Individuals Looking for Equity and aims to raise funds to address hunger and food insecurity.
The event offers two distance options and two package levels for each distance. Deluxe packages include a medal, a commemorative t-shirt, and a swag bag. After the race, participants who purchased deluxe packages may pick up their medal and swag bag. Sponsors and partners will have on-site booths, and the program includes music, raffles, and awards. The start line and finish line are located inside Baylands. The park has a single entrance that may become congested and parking inside the park costs $6.
Registration fees and special deals are specified by the organizer. Listed fees include 5K basic $25 and 5K deluxe $45, and 10K basic $40 and 10K deluxe $60. Discounts apply for families of three or more and for teams of ten or more. Fundraisers that raise more than $100 may have the registration fee waived, and five referrals make a registrant eligible for a $20 refund.
