Almaden Hills Trail Run - Summer
The Almaden Hills Trail Run takes place in Almaden Quicksilver Park near the Mockingbird Hill entrance in San Jose, California. The course surface is about 60% dirt roads and 40% single track and runs through hilly terrain with open views of the surrounding countryside. Elevation gain increases with distance, from 722 feet on the 5K to 8,222 feet on the 50K.
Available race distances include:
- 5K
- 10K
- 8 Mile
- Half Marathon
- 30K
- Trail Marathon
- 50K
Course markings use colored ribbons and gypsum direction signs; ribbons are attached to trees or bushes with clothespins. Two main aid stations are used repeatedly on the courses: the Mockingbird Parking Lot Aid Station at the start and finish, and the Hacienda Parking Lot Aid Station. Drop bag service is provided for the 30K, Trail Marathon, and 50K and will be staged at Mockingbird and Hacienda. Toilets are located at the start and finish area and are available on a first come first served basis.
Time limits and cutoffs are enforced for the longer distances at specific aid stations. All finishers receive a medal. Event parking is provided at Almaden Neighborhood Church about 0.3 mile from the start; participants are asked to be respectful of the church and neighborhood parking rules.
