Event Overview
The Beer City Half SLAM takes place in Fremont, California, specifically at Quarry Lakes. This event serves as the final race in the Beer City Slam series and is held during National Clear the Shelters Month. A portion of the activities supports animal rescue and adoption through a partnership with Pets in Need.
The courses utilize a mix of paved bike paths and trails. Participants travel along the San Francisco Bay Trail and Alameda Creek. The following distances are available:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- The Beer Stroll (1 mile)
- Top Dog Dash (1 mile)
- Beat the Beast Beer Mile (1 mile)
The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k registrations include unlimited beer tasting. The Beer Stroll is a non-competitive walk or run around Quarry Lakes that provides beer tastings at the start and finish. The Top Dog Dash is a walk or run designed for participants and their dogs; all participants receive a cape, and proceeds benefit Pets in Need.
The Beat the Beast Beer Mile is a specific challenge where participants consume four 12oz beers, drinking one every quarter mile. Participants must complete the distance without being overtaken by the "Beer City Beast" and without disqualification for illness.
