Steps with St. Dymphna 5k Run/Walk
The event is organized by Saint Vincent College Campus Ministry to raise awareness about domestic violence and to fundraise for the Blackburn Center during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It is the fourth annual running and walking event held at 300 Fraser Purchase Rd, Latrobe, PA.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5k Run
- 1.5 Mile Walk
Race day registration and packet pickup are available on the morning of the event; day-of registrations require cash payment and t shirt availability is limited. Race day sign ups have a fee of $20, and porta john restrooms will be available on site. Parking is provided on campus in Lots Q and S.
Sponsorship opportunities are offered; sponsors can have their organization advertised on the back of race shirts and may promote their organization at the event in other ways. The Blackburn Center provides services and education for victims of domestic and sexual violence and related crimes in Westmoreland County, and the event supports that organization.
The event name references St. Dymphna, a historical figure regarded as a patron for people affected by mental health challenges and victims of abuse. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
