Mike Reese Memorial Roast, Run and Family Fun Event
This community event takes place on July 4, 2026 at Pavilion 1 in Mammoth Park, Mount Pleasant, PA. The day features a 5K walk/run around Mammoth Park followed by a family meal, musical entertainment, raffles and other activities.
There are separate running categories for adults, youth and a short kids run. The kids event, called Mike's Mini Milers, is an approximately 1/4 mile timed run for children 10 and under; awards will be given based on time and heats will run continuously during the morning. Registration includes event participation and, for the kids run, food. Race T shirts are included with registration through June 10 and additional shirts may be available for purchase at the event.
The 5K is not officially timed and is presented as a community walk/run. Snacks and beverages will be available as participants finish. Lunch will include a roast with pig, kielbasa, sauerkraut and sauces along with other items from Giannelli's. A foundation in his honor has been established to support youth athletics and provide opportunities for children to participate in sports. The event is described as the sixth annual edition.
