Steps for Strong Minds 5K - Hartland

The Steps For Strong Minds 5K Run/Walk is a community event focused on mental health awareness and physical activity. Held in downtown Hartland, Wisconsin, the event takes place in conjunction with the MindfulMe Mental Health Resource Fair located on East Capitol Drive. This initiative serves as the successor to the previous Five Fifty Fifty Run/Walk series, transitioning to a format designed for local community participation.

The event features two distinct distances for participants:

  • 5K: A 3.1 mile course open to participants who wish to run or walk.
  • 40 Yards: A short distance sprint specifically for children aged 10 and under.

Registration is required for all individuals regardless of age. Children aged 13 and under may participate at no cost, though youth must be accompanied by an adult during the event. The program emphasizes the connection between physical movement and mental well-being, specifically through the introduction of the youth dash which focuses on building confidence and healthy habits.

Proceeds from the event are used to support local programs that promote mental health awareness and encourage physical activity for children. These programs aim to help youth develop resilience and long-term health habits. Participants and families can engage with the various resources available at the accompanying mental health fair throughout the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
