Festive Community Running Event
The Jingle Bell 5K Hustle and 1K Dash is a holiday-themed event held at Greenfield Park in West Allis. Hosted by the New Berlin YMCA, the event takes place in a scenic park setting and supports local community programs including Youth Strong and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. Participants can choose between several options:
- 5K Jingle Bell Hustle
- 1K Jingle Dash (ages 2-10)
- 5K Jingle Bell Hustle- Virtual
The 5K course is chip-timed, and runners must complete the distance within 70 minutes. A hydration station is located near the 1.5-mile mark. For those who wish to participate with their pets, a dog-friendly add-on is available. Registered dogs receive a themed bandana and a pup cup, provided they remain leashed and well-behaved throughout the course.
Participants in the 5K event receive a long-sleeve crewneck shirt and a finisher mug. Post-race amenities include a hot cocoa and coffee station, snacks, and a selfie wall. While the 1K Dash results in a finisher ribbon, these participants have the option to purchase event apparel separately.
The event features a holiday experience with Santa, including story readings, letter-writing, and photo opportunities. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age division and to the fastest team. Parking is available in three large lots near the Cool Waters Aquatics Center.
