Step Up for KIDS - Wichita
Step Up for KIDS is the 24th annual fundraiser for the Kansas Infant Death and SIDS (KIDS) Network. The in-person event takes place on April 24, 2027, at Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W. Museum Blvd., Wichita. A virtual option runs from April 3 through April 24, 2027, allowing participants to complete a 5K on a course of their choice.
Registration includes a T-shirt (guaranteed for registrations by March 31, 2027), a children's fair, brunch, and admission to Old Cowtown Museum. Packet pickup is available at the KIDS office, 300 W. Douglas, Suite 145, on the Friday before the in-person event and at event check-in on race day. 5K timing chips are distributed with packets.
Features and rules described by the organizer include:
- Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted.
- Teams may register under one team name; the Grand Team Award goes to the team that raises the most money.
- For the Memorial Walk, baby signs will be placed along the 5K route; there will be no Memorial Bubble Release.
- Awards for the 5K include top three overall finishers in adult men and women and youth boys and girls; timing will be provided.
- Incomplete registration information, including the liability waiver, can exclude a participant from awards.
- No pets, alcoholic beverages, or glass containers are allowed. The event proceeds regardless of weather.
