Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot
The Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day community 5K fun run, run/walk and fundraiser that benefits the Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs. The course is an out and back that starts and ends at Steamboat Springs High School, travels to Strawberry Park and returns. Participants include runners, walkers, competitive adaptive athletes, strollers, burly trailers, and leashed dogs on the course; dogs are not allowed inside the high school during bib pickup. Wheelchair access is available to all facilities involved.
Registration is age based. Pre-race pricing listed by age group includes free entry for children 5 and under, a reduced fee for children 6 to 10, and higher fees for youth and adults; day-of registration uses adjusted pricing. A limited number of early online youth and adult registrants will receive a swag item. Packet pickup is the evening before the race at the high school and on race morning; lines may be busy on race morning.
Prizes are awarded by overall and age-category placings, with ribbons for young children and a best costume award. A raffle drawing follows awards. Non-perishable food donations for Lift Up Food Bank will be accepted near the finish line, and organizers will also accept donations for Ukraine relief that will be allocated to humanitarian and medical supplies.
